If you’ve found yourself in River Oaks either because they need the money and forced you in, or because you went voluntarily - the game is the same. In my experience…

1. You are a dollar sign.

2. The staff is incompetant

3. The staff thinks they are better than you, and trust me, they are not.

4. Kiss their asses.

5. Pretend you think they are helping you.

6. If you make friendships with other tenants, don’t let the staff see - they will separate you. That’s one of the little ways they have power.

7. Do not ask to leave. They will keep you longer.

8. Suffer through all the “voluntary” groups they have. If you don’t they will claim you are going to hurt yourself or others.
